Pray to the Moon when She is round,
Luck with you will then abound,
What you seek for shall be found
On the sea or solid ground.

Wandering: Greeting the Wee Ones (Again)

There are many thoughts, ideas & words I feel a desire to write. I would like to write (among other things) about the hatred remediation work I have completed, about being Outside, about new ventures in light of old ones, about what happens when the "Earth Goddess" becomes a cop-out, about animism vs. anthropomorphism, about Bacchus & breastmilk, about my reflections on letters received, about my thoughts on birdsigns, patron deities & flying ointments, about meditations on Water, about people who are full of crap & about the wisdom of friends.

But. They keep calling, singing their tiny siren's songs from the forest.

A wee slime mold makes my heart flutter.

Last year, I was greeting the Wee Ones. This year, they are greeting me. In droves. They are a clamorous bunch.

A wee Amanita muscaria, always charming, but moreso in miniature.

Tiny yellow cup fungi = love.

Wee mushroom with a ruddy cap.

Wee Earthtongues, also known as Fairy Fans.

Wee Puffballs emerging.

A wee Russula, so adorable.

Wee Coral Fungi emerging.

Wee cup fungi on canid feces.

Yes. I talk to them too (it's awkward).
A trio of wee white mushrooms.

A green Russula grows an (extra) wee cap.

A wee black cup fungi nestled in the sphagnum.
Nature's cauldron.

A gratuitous wee mushroom.
A gratuitous wee mushroom. So many.

Another wee puff. Like Lady Moon. Yes.

A teeny-tiny umbrella mushroom.
A teeny-tiny umbrella mushroom.
A leader among the Wee Ones, although not the smallest.
These mushrooms are generally shy,
but this one was remarkably amicable.

Wee Ones trump writing.
I can only hope the words stay with me until I get out from under their spell.

* Special thanks to my trusty dime companion. I could not convey the scale without it.

The beginning of your post reads like my thoughts after certain phone call... but enough of that. Your sharing of Nature's art put a smile on my face. I was cooing and grinning. What beauty the Earth holds...

What lovely examples of the rewards in store for anyone who takes the time to observe more closely! And I thank you very much for using your dime to show the scale; the tiny-ness of some of these (especially that last one) would not have been clear without it.
