Thoughts While Waiting (Impatiently). A Bout of Gratitude & Observation (turned prayer).

This week my husband suggested that we "might have to give up on the idea of mushrooms this season..." to which I squirmed & balked & grumbled & subsequently chose to ignore.

But there is a dearth of fungi here this season. It is true.

In a way, maybe this is a good thing. Sort of. I guess.
It is in the sense that we have had to turn our attention to other things. Things overlooked, but things that also fill our hearts & imaginations. They are not fungi, but still, as I reflect, I am grateful.

When we turn our eyes from the duff, what more is there to discover?

The World. (In no particular Order.)

Day 1: Nuit (For the files)

Rising at the wee hour of dawn or so to read Chapter One of Liber AL vel Legis in attunement with the misfits, or, as we call ourselves, the Scarlets. On this noteworthy day, at this daybreak hour, I am struck by these lines in particular:

27. Then the priest answered & said unto the Queen of Space, kissing her lovely brows, and the dew of her light bathing his whole body in a sweet-smelling perfume of sweat: O Nuit, continuous one of Heaven, let it be ever thus; that men speak not of Thee as One but as None; and let them speak not of thee at all, since thou art continuous!
28. None, breathed the light, faint & faery, of the stars, and two.
29. For I am divided for love's sake, for the chance of union.
30. This is the creation of the world, that the pain of division is as nothing, and the joy of dissolution all.
-- Chapter 1, Liber AL vel Legis, sub figura CCXX

Wandering: More Gifts from the Sky

A Gift from the Sky: Owl Pellet Art
In the form of a Montane Vole (Microtus montanus) & a Northern Pocket Gopher (Thomomys talpoides).

I have been noticing a trend since the inception of the new year. Last year seemed to be represented by an abundance of encounters with, & gifts from the Horned Ones. But since our entry into January, it seems there has been a shift to the Sky. What this means for us & the coming year, I can only speculate & wait eagerly to discover.

We wandered as far as the barn yesterday & there we found the feasting grounds of Owl. We filled a Mason jar with pellets to be painstakingly teased apart over the coming weeks. Little Lad is honing his skills. We delight in watching him marvel.
